A prompt for A-Z challenge

Well despite feeling poorly all day (not according to my husband!!!) I have managed to the first layout of the A-Z challenge. I am doing a A-Z of Zoe as I think it will be nice to chart a year in her life and I will ensure that I use up to date photos for each layout. I haven't really journalled this page but I have included a poem.

I have done A for Angel as Zoe is my little angel. This is only my second layout and I am really pleased with the way it has come out. It is really bright and colourful. I cut the Angel out using my Craft Robo and Hobbycraft's self adhesive glitter card. The photo is mounted on this too but in a turquoise. I have used Bazzill Bling cardstock for the base and some papers from Cup Cake, ric rac ribbon and then some Bazzill flowers and brads.

Finished Nellies

I have managed to make 2 cards today using my Sugar Nellie stamps. The first one is using Fanciful Green Filigre (their spelling not mine!!!) paper made by Paper Adventures which I got from Hobbycraft. It is lovely paper with embossed glittery swirls. The image is the Winter Sugar Nellie which I have water coloured. I have also used Bazzill Bling card and a Bling flower.

The second card is using DCWV paper from the Spring Stack with pink and blue Bazzill Bling card. I can't remember where the flowers are from. The card I cut on my Craft Robo on pearlised card and it is scalloped with hearts in each scallop. I then used ribbon inside the card behind the hearts.

I just lurve these stamps!!!!

Cakes and crafting

Well haven't I been busy? Firstly I know Halloween is over for the year but I found this cake mix on offer in Asda (2 for £2) so I thought they would be fun to make with my daughter.
I did all the mixing and Zoe put the halloween embellishments on. They taste really yummy too! Although Zoe seems to think that as she put the sweeties on, then that is all she needs to eat!!!

And then I made a card for my husband's cousin who will be 7 on 5th November. I had seen something similar on UKS on the Craft Robo template section by Anna - I thought I would have a go at making my own version of it using the new Design Master software. I found an image of a football and then traced it using the software and then made a circular card and matted and layered his name and the number seven. I cut the white using Bazzill and the black is Bazzill glitter card. It didn't cut very well so I had to get the knife out to finish it off. I am really pleased with this one.

Christmas is on it's way

On Wednesday I bought some new decorations for the tree this year. I have decided to do the tree in greens and purples - bit like a peacock. My husband thought I was nuts when I came home with some tree decs - what does he know anyway?!?!?!

So Thursday, I had the day off and very naughtily sent my daughter off to nursery so that I could spend the whole day on crafting with all my stash spread out over the lounge!!!

This is the first card - I used a Penny Black stamp cut out and put onto some pearlised card. I coloured in the image using some Sakura Glaze pens to give the post box some gloss and water coloured the rest of the image. I then used Cuttlebug Snow embossing folder to emboss the bottom circle and used a gold peel off greeting and a bit of ribbon. The bottom circle is meant to look like a bauble - could you tell???


My next card is using the same stamp but coloured all in water colours. I thought the postage stamp paper went well with the post box - it is from the Papermania Christmas stack.

My last cards are using the Santa's Workshop stamp by Whipper Snapper - the first one is the same as the last one I posted but I didn't think it looked right so I changed the greeting for a stamped and embossed greeting in red tinsel embossing powder.

And lastly ...

I used a swing card template that I found on the web which I amended to use it on A5 card. It was a bit fiddly and I cut it by hand and so up close doesn't look very good. I am going to redesign it using the Craft Robo.

Stamping Overload!!!

I haven't updated my bloggie in a while so I thought that I had better do a couple of cards to give me the incentive to post them up here.

They are both Christmas cards - I really must get myself into gear and get them all made. I have purchased lots of fabby Christmas stamps but can't seem to get myself motivated. The weather has really turned today and has made me feel very wintry so perhaps my creative christmas mojo will return (not that I ever had any in the first place!!!!).

The first card is a Whipper Snapper stamp which I got from The Glitter Pot - their service is fantastic - I ordered Thursday lunch and they were delivered Friday morning!!! I have also used paper from the DCWV Christmas Stack and the Snowflake Cuttlebug Embossing folder - I use this in my Big Shot - much better than Sizzix's Texture Plates!!! Oh and a bit of glue and glitter - an essential on any chrimbo card!!!

The second card is a Penny Black stamp which I love. I went to a Craft Fair this morning in Ringwood and bought several more embossing folders and some more Penny Black stamps. This is also using paper from the DCWV Christmas Stack and I embossed it using the snowflake folder. I then used some rik rak ribbon and some peel off greetings. I did chuck this one together quite quickly and not overly pleased with it - but it will do to put towards the christmas card pile!!!!

I have purchased the Design Master software for my Craft Robo, which if you have been reading the Craft Robo Chat forum on UKS then you will know that there are a few teething problems. I haven't attempted to cut anything yet!!! Look out on my bloggie when I have managed to actually do something using it. I do have a card to make for a 7 year old and I know what I want to do but haven't a clue how to do it on Design Master and I don't want to use the old software now that I have the new one!!!!

I seemed to have spent a fortune on crafty stuff over the last few weeks. I have got a pile of lovely Whipper Snapper and Penny Black stamps waiting to be used which I am definitely going to do this evening whilst watching Top Gear. When do you feel that you have all the crafting stuff that you need? Never I guess!!!!

Anyway now I am beginning to ramble... ... so bye for now!!!!

I have also made this week - also designed using my Craft Robo - unfortunately the picture isn't very clear but you get the idea. The card was for some friends who are emigrating on the 1st November to Australia and I was a bit stumped as to what sort of card to make - Sorry your leaving, New Home or Good Luck. I was pretty pleased with what I came up with. I cut it using Bazzill card in two shades of brown and just put a silver Good Luck on it and another wooden embellie from Hobbycraft.

Age Cards

I seem to have spent my week making cards for 1 year olds and 2 years old. The above card is for our friends little girl who is one this week. I attempted to make a girly version of the other 1st card but my Craft Robo seem to throw a wobbly and cut it all over the place - I wasted so much card. So I designed this one myself. I love my Craft Robo very much but designing templates seems so longwinded as I tend to make the template in Inkscape and then import it into the Craft Robo software in order to cut it. Graphtec, the makers of the Craft Robo have bought out some new software which lets you do the whole thing in one piece of software. I ordered mine last week and am now just waiting for the posties to get the backlog of post delivered.



The cards above and below are also designed using the Craft Robo. All the paper is from DCWV - the top two are from the Springstack and and one below is using paper from the Christmas stack. All three cards in this post are using some wooden embellishments from Hobbycraft. I love them as they really brighten the cards up.

I have then used balloon brads from Lakelands that I cut the metal spiky bits off and then attached coloured wire to them using foam pads which then are used to attach them to the cards.

The little round letters for the names were free from a card making mag some months ago and I have glued them on top of either stars or plastic flowers. A few peel off greetings for the Happy Birthdays et voila...

First Birthday

This is a card I have made this evening for my friend's baby boy who is having his first birthday party tomorrow. I have cut out the 1st using my Craft Robo and then covered it in paper from the DCWV Spring Stack. The boy is a wooden embellishment that I picked up from Hobbycraft. I used balloon brads which I attached wire to make it look like he is holding them. The Benjamin letters were a freebie from a Card mag some months ago. Then just a bit of ribbon and stick on gems and some peel off greetings.

Feeling really proud of ourselves at work as we have had a Jeans for Genes week and managed to raise just over £500 which is pretty fantastic as there is only 30 people at our Head Office. We had a week of competitions such as guess the headless photos, guess who from a secret, bowling competition on the Nintendo Wii (which I very almost won!!!), a tombola of supplier samples. For £2 I got a fabby cat bed worth at least £20!!! And of course we had to pay to wear our jeans to work.

Aarh New Baby

Whilst I was on my hols, a colleague had their first baby - a little girl called Lucy and so I got the chance to make them a card. I used papers from the Spring Stack from DCWV for the letters which I cut using my Craft Robo. The backing paper on the card is from The Glitter Stack also from DCWV. The hedgehog is a sticker from the Penny Black range which I mounted on pink pearlescent Bazzill card. I outlined the card with some silver peel offs and tied a ribbon around it. When I took it to work for some others to sign and people asked how I managed to buy a card with name Lucy on it - I was well chuffed with this!!!

Welcome

Hi to anybody who is reading my very first attempt at a blog.

I love visiting the UK Scrappers website http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/ - I was bought a Craft Robo (or Robo Cop as I like to call it) by my darling husband a couple of months ago and I was advised to use this website as there is always plenty of help to be found on there - and what good advice it was. I have downloaded numerous templates for the Robo Cop and have actually made some of my own after following all the fabby tutorials.

Then I started looking at other forums on the site and have got a bit addicted to the card making one. I love entering the challenges and have made several cards for them. My favourite to date was for the September challenge using a sketch from the Page Maps site http://www.pagemaps.com/. I made a monochromatic card using Doodlebug papers, glittered butterfly stamps, Bazzill card and a dreaded peel off!!

I am hoping this blog will encourage me to keep making cards so that I have something to post on to my blog. So please keep revisiting my blog to see what I get up to. I hope it isn't too boring and hopefully as my card making skills improve you will start to see some fabby cards.

Right I am off to colour some beautiful Bella stamps that I bought from First Class Crafts http://www.firstclasscrafts.co.uk/ on Friday which popped through my door on Saturday morning - what service eh?
