My Year - 31st May - Troll Beads

I really do have the best hubbie in the world. He bought me a new Troll bead bracelet, clasp and new beads on Friday. My other bracelet was full and the colours were a mish mash so I have split them into 2 now and made them a bit more coordinated.

My Year - 30th May - A Big Kid

Today we went looking at a house in Stapehill and promised Zoe a trip to the park if she was a good girl whilst looking at the house. And of course she was and off we went. James couldn't resist the zip wire - despite his leg.

My Year - 29th May - The Beach

Today we went over to Weymouth on a Troll Bead mission and Zoe whined and whined to go down to the beach. It was a gorgeous day and the beach was heaving with people. Zoe loved splashing in the sea - but cor it was cold!!!!!!

My Year - 28 May - Pay Day

Yippee it is pay day!!! Almost makes it worthwhile going to work everyday. But I would still rather retire.

My Year - 27th May - My new friend

I am on two CT teams for digi scrapping and have a lot of layouts to get done, so my beloved Page Maps cards are my new best friend. Brilliant for inspiration.

My Year - 26th May - Creative Team

I applied to be on the Creative Team for a digital store called The DigitalScrapCafe over the weekend and I found out last night that I got accepted. I am very excited. The store is fantastic with some lovely kits. So watch my digi blog for some layouts made with the scrummy kits. If you fancy a peek at the store it can be found here http://www.digitalscrapcafe.com/cafe
I am sure you will find lots of yummy things to tempt you. Have a look at this fab May collaboration kit called My Mother. I will be doing some layouts with this kit shortly.

They also have a brilliant forum with lots of chatter and challenges etc. Come and join in the fun here http://digitalscrapcafe.com/forum/

Scrap Like You Mean It - Week 21 - Scrap a Song

This week Shimelle challenged us to scrap a song title.
I took these 2 photos on Friday whilst we were walking round the lake at Moors Valley and the song title "We are Family" by Sister Sledge sprung to mind instantly.
The papers are all from May's Total Papercraft kit. Then I have added some Thickers lettering and a couple layered blooms.

My Year - 25th May - New Shoes

Zoe was in desperate need of some new trainers as she had worn her old ones out on the slides. So whilst out shopping we managed to get her some new ones with 30% off. I wonder how long these will last?

My Year - 24th May - New Slippers

We went food shopping yesterday and these fab slippers caught my eye. They were half price and then had a further 20% off so I got them for £2. They are so comfy and snuggly and best of all my favourite colour.

My Year - 23rd May - Baby Geese

Today we have been to Poole Park and we saw these cute little baby geese.

My Year - 22nd May - Tinkerbell

At Moors Valley there is a miniature steam railway which you can pay to take a ride around the park. It is lovely with two stations and tunnels. There is a big gala on next week so they were really sprucing it all up today. We came across this cute little engine called Tinkerbell.

My Year - 21st May - Baby Ducks

We have been to Moors Valley today and went for a stroll round the lake after lunch. It was lovely with lots of wildlife - birds, butterflies and bugs. We saw this little family of ducks on the lake - don't where the daddy duck was.

My Year - 20th May - Petrol Price

The idea for this photo was snagged from one of the Photo a Day ladies who had photographed the petrol price board as she thought it would be a good idea to be able to look back the price of petrol now, in the years to come. I am not brave enough to take the same photo but I did fill the car up tonight so my photo is of the receipt and the price was 95.9p per litre and it cost £52 to fill the car up - this will last us for 2 weeks.

My Year - 19th May - Cool Dude

Zoe saw these Peppa Pig glasses in Claire's Accessories on Saturday and kicked up a huge fuss as she "needed" them. So in true, good parenting fashion, I used the glasses as leverage to make sure that she was a good girl all day and that she ate all her lunch up. She did as she was told so she got the glasses.

My Year - 18th May - Tea Stains

I love tea and could drink it for England. I always quite fancy the thought of an intravenous drip.
Today I noticed my mug at work was disgustly stained inside and so I bought it home for my very good husband to scrub it clean. What a fantastic job he has done - look at the before and after.

Sketch Saturday #51

This is my card for the Sketch Saturday challenge.
The stamp is another Greetings Farm one and I have coloured it using Pro Markers. The papers are all from My Mind's Eye Magnolia collection.

Friday Sketchers #52

I haven't made any cards in ages, but I have the day to myself, so I have the chance to some crafting.
The sketch is:
And here is my card:
The stamp is a Greeting Farm Miss Anya coloured using Pro Markers and the papers are all from Crate Paper's Katlin range.

My Year - 17th May - Wet, wet, wet

The weather is absolutely hideous today - howling winds and rain. There is absolutely no chance of getting any washing out - so the good old tumble drier comes into action. Costly but least it makes the ironing easier!!!

My Year - 16th May - Hair Bits

Zoe unfortunately has the same kinky hair as me and so always looks messy. She hates having it brushed and it is always a battle to get a brush through it. I have just about convinced her to wear it in bunches everyday. I love buying the little bands to go in her hair. These are so cute.

My Year - 15th May - Miss Anyas - at last

Greeting Farm stamps are my favourite stamps and these Miss Anyas fly out of the shops the minute they hit the shelves. I was so lucky to see them for sale so I just had to snap them up. Can’t wait to use them – I haven’t made any cards in ages.

Scrap Like You Mean It - Week 20 - Scrap with a pen

This week Shimelle's challenge was to scrap using a pen.
I have used Banana Frog papers from a previous Total Papercrafts kit and based my layout on Pencillines Sketch 133 but I turned it on it's side.
I have used a pen to do some faux stitching and to colour in some stencilled patterns.

My Year - 14th May - New Pyjamas

This is Zoe in her new Peppa Pig pyjamas. She got really hyper and excited and it took me ages to get a photo of her as she jumped and bounced all around the lounge. But in the end, this is my favourite one.

My Year - 13th May - Jamaican Turtles

I love these two little ornaments. We bought them from a beach seller on our honeymoon in Jamaica 5 years ago. Both have had their heads snapped off by Zoe and glued back on again. I can't tell you why I love them so much - I just do!

My Year - 12th May - Kiwi

I have really got into these fruits because Zoe has them at nursery for snack time. She also eats alot of pears and these are now my other favourite fruit.

My Year - 11th May - Upsey Daisy Cookie

This is the result of our baking session yesterday. We added some blobs of blackcurrant icing and marshmallows. They taste really yummy but of course Zoe only eats the marshmallows and leaves the biscuit uneaten.

My Year - 10th May - Baking with Mummy

Today we decided to do some baking and we made some Night Garden cookies. I am a hopeless cook so we bought a packet mix. Zoe helped me roll out the dough and then she cut the cookies out. They smell yummy. Just need some decorating once they have cooled down.

Scrap Like You Mean It - Week 19 - Scraplift

This week Shimelle challenged us to find a layout in the SLYMI gallery on UK Scrappers and then to scrap lift it.
I particularly liked this one by Bookworm called See Saw from week 16.
And this is mine.

Scrap Like You Mean It - Week 18 - Scrap the Outdoors

I was a bit behind so this is me playing catch up. Week 18 was to scrap the outdoors. So I used a photo of Zoe on her bike.

My Year - 9th May - Greetings Farm

I haven’t bought any craft stash in ages as I am so into digi at the moment, but I just love these Greeting Farm stamps and my stock of cards is getting low, so I treated myself to some new ones – now I just need to actually use them and make some cards.

My Year - 8th May - Swimming

We have been taking Zoe swimming for the last couple of weeks and today Daddy bought her some new armbands. Look at these funky ones. She loves swimming and is getting on really well.

My Year - 7th May - Sold

The flat actually sold within a week of going on the market but it has taken all this time for the estate agent to come and put a sold sign up.

My Year - 6th May - And relax...

After a poor night's sleep, the last thing I needed this evening was Zoe to play us up. She must be overtired and she was a right pain. She didn't want to get in the bath and had a mega tantrum and got me soaked and then - obviously - then didn't want to get out of the bath and so had more tantrums. Thankfully she has gone to bed and now I am relaxing with a nice cup of tea.

My Year - 5th May 2009 - Rhododendron

I took this photograph yesterday whilst shopping at Haskins. They had some gorgeous rhododendron displays and I couldn't resist these ones as they had recently been watered and so the petals had drops of water on them.

My Year - 4th May - Robin

This morning we went to Haskins to buy a tree for my mum and we stopped and had tea and cake. We sat outside so that Zoe could play in the play area. This little fella came and landed on the chair right beside me. Luckily I had my point and shoot camera on me and so took a few photos of him.

My Year - 3rd May - S'ghetti Face

We had lunch in the pub and instead of the usual chicken nuggets and chips, Zoe chose tomato pasta and garlic bread. She got in a real mess eating it but really enjoyed sucking in the spaghetti strands. She finished off with a bowl of ice cream.

Digital Scrapbook Place - NKOTB Round 1

Over at Digital Scrapbook Place I have signed up to a contest called New Kids On The Block. It is a 4 week contest and is for those who are new to digital scrapbooking and want to learn more based on quality feedback and constructive critiques from experienced scappers.
For round 1 we had to use the welcome freebie kit, a freebie font and freebie word art or alphas.
Here is my first attempt. You may see the same layout tweaked as I receive comments.

I have made a scalloped edge to one of the papers. I have made a copy of the Word Art and place it slightly lower and to the right and then changed the opacity to make the Word Art look shadowed. I have cut the ribbon to make it look like it is wrapped around the photo and the part of the horizontal strip of paper. And then using a freebie font (see below for credits) I have journalled around the layout to give an impression of a border. I have used the Welcome kit. The font is Can You Hear Me Now by Suzanne C Walker. The word art is called All About You by Kerri Erickson. I have used a page map from Becky Fleck.

My Year - 2nd May - Dandelion Clock

This photo was inspired by Vicki on her Biskit Barrel blog. Hers is a much better photo but it gave me some great inspiration.

My Year -1st May - Girlie Night Out

I have been out for dinner with past and present colleagues to Chiquitos. Luckily the company was good as dinner was nothing to write home about. It was great to catch up with everyone and we were the last ones in the restaurant to leave.
