UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - December Wk 3 and 4

The last challenge of the year. It was set by Scrap Dolly and she gave us a palette of different christmassy colours to use for 10 points and the other criteria were to Use the words of any carol (carol not Christmas song) on the page (10 points), use journalling strips of some description rather than a journalling block or tag etc (5 points) and to use just one photo (5 points).
I have used one of Dawn Inskips's Make Believe templates and her Nativity kit.

What Alfie did next...

Only a couple more days and Alfie will be back with Santa for the rest of the year, having done his work in the Viney household. Zoe will be really sad to see him go.

On Wednesday I sorted my old laptop out for Zoe to use and got her some educational software to use on it. Alfie must think he is a clever elf as he had turned it on and was doing of Zoe's lessons.

And this morning he attempting to ride off into the sunset with his girlfriend - didn't seem to get very far though!

Clever Alfie

This Rubik's cube was Zoe's favourite birthday present. After she had gone to bed on Sunday, Grandad played for a good 3 hours straight on it and could only get 2 sides! However, I left it on the kitchen table last night and look what Alfie has done with it!

Alfie has been baking

We woke this morning to see that Alfie had been busy during the night. He baked and decorated this cake just for Zoe!

A couple of days late posting Alfie's antics!
On Friday morning we came down to find him riding the Duck!

And this morning we found that he had stolen my beaded snowflake kit and had made a start on them!

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - December Wk 2

This week's challenge was set by Mrs Cheshire. She gave us a sketch to use for 10 points, we had to use scraps of paper for 10 points and a minimum of 2 photos for the final 10 points.

Using scraps in digi scrapping is a bit difficult - usually I would shrink the paper to fit but this time I haven't and have so used just a portion of it. I have used Studio Flergs digi kit called Glorious!

Breakfast at Viney''s

Alfie was obviously hungry this morning. I can't decide who makes more mess at breakfast time - Zoe or Alfie?

Zoe is loving his antics!

More transport!

I think Alfie is quite a lazy elf as he seems to prefer finding other modes of transport rather than using his own powers to fly back to the North Pole.
He seems to have found a good flying companion in Miss Rabbit!

And he has managed to hook Zoe's bauble off the tree as he has flown past.

Zoe's most prized card

And here is the card that Alfie sent Zoe!

Alf does his cards

Alfie must have been watching me writing all the Christmas cards last night as this morning we woke to find him sitting on Zoe's dolls house furniture having written a Christmas card for Zoe!

Alfie - These boots are made for walking!

This morning we woke up to find Alfie wearing Zoe's winter boots. They are very big and heavy so I cannot imagine he would have managed to walk very far in them. Good pose though Alfie with your arms crossed!

Alfie update

When we got home on Friday, Alfie had obviously been trying to find new ways to get back to the North Pole instead of having to fly. He was sat astride our Nuts and Bolts Harley having a backie!

Saturday morning we found him having a nosey into the party bags - he was stuck upside down in Emma's bag! Good job we found him otherwise Emma would have got a surprise when she opened her bag!

And this morning, he was trying to play on the Wii but he hadn't switched the TV on so he wasn't getting far. He was obviously trying to get fit for his nightly journeys!

Alfie was hungry!

We woke up this morning to see that Alfie had helped himself to Zoe's Advent Calendar!
He was perched on top of it...

... munching one of Zoe's coins!
Zoe was NOT happy!!!!

Alfie's Antics

Well we got up this morning to find Alfie had been trying out his artistic skills...

... unfortunately on our best photos!
Zoe thought it was hilarious!

When we came home after school, Zoe spotted his new hiding place straight away! Alfie isn't as clever as he thinks he is!

Alfie has arrived

I have been telling Zoe about the Elf on the Shelf for ages and yesterday eventually he arrived. I explained to her that Father Christmas had rung me a few days ago, to tell me that seeing as Zoe had been so good and had worked so hard at school this year, that he didn't need to watch her and so instead he was sending her an elf to watch over her.
I explained that the elf comes and she needs to name him and then he becomes magical. He watches her during the day and then once she has gone to sleep, he whizzes back to the North Pole to tell Father Christmas whether she has been naughty or nice. Then in the morning, he will be hiding from her and she needs to find him. However, she must not touch him or else he could lose his magic.
On Christmas Eve he will fly back to the North Pole where he will stay with Santa until next December and then he will come back to Zoe again.
This is Zoe and the elf before she named him
We then gave him the name of Alfie and registered him. We then got a Certificate of Adoption.

Zoe went to bed with Alfie sat on the wardrobe watching over her. She went to bed very quickly - which was a good thing as I wasn't very well.
When she woke up in the morning, Alfie was no longer on the wardrobe - he was downstairs hiding in Zoe's book bag.
Then when no-one was in the kitchen, he magically zoomed into the lounge and was wearing Zoe's school cardigan!
I wonder where he will be tomorrow morning. He has a lot to tell Santa as Zoe has been very good today and ended up taking over the second narrator as well as her own narrating part in the school play!

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - November Wk 4

This week's challenge was set by AllyJ50 who is a member of the Craftaholics team.
She challenged us to use the sketch = 10 points - Sketch attached from www.scrappysketches.com (2 photos layout) One Photo of yourself or child and one photo of the person you are named after if possible = 10 points Visible journaling = 10 points explaining who/what you are named after

I have had to use a bit of artistic licence with this challenge as I do not know the origins of my name and I do not have any photos of myself as a child to hand and so I have done it on based on how I got my childhood nickname.
I have used Studio Flergs Glorious kit - it is really a Christmas kit but I love the colours of it!

My Weekly Like - Week 44

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - October Wk 5

This week's chalenege was set by Wonky aka Jo. She challenged us to use at least 90% patterned paper for 10 points, use a time mention for 10 points and use lots of bling for the final 10 points.

I have used a photo from the weekend's Halloween party of the 23 children who came. I have used a digi kit called Spookilicious by Studio Flergs. The bling is a glittery background, glittery green stitches and sparkly stars. The time mention is the title of Beware Witching Hour.
