UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge October Week 2

This week's challenge was set by Sixofone. She challenged us to use all one colour for 10 points, make your own embellishments for 10 points and drag out old stash for the final 10 points. I have used all orange papers and embellishments, using old papers from My Minds Eye paperstack that I have had for ages and I made the paper rosette flower using a Craft Robo template. I have also made my own alphas by inking over some Doodlebug alphas and then taking them off the paper to leave the outline.

A Catch up

UKS October Week 1
I have only just realised that I haven't posted up a photo of last week's UKS weekly challenge. I did whilst at my 365 Retreat in Bognor - so the girls can vouch that I did do it before the deadline. I did it as a double page layout. The challenge was set by the Bijoux Belles and we had to use a grid for 10 points, first or number one for 10 points and use circles or stamping for the final 10 points.
I used paper that had a grid on it and circles on it and used photos of Zoe's first day of school.
Another layout from the retreat

Here is another layout I did whilst on the retreat:
Lean Mean Mini Book
I also made the Lean Mean Mini book and finished it off when I got home. It is made using just one piece of 12x12 cardstock and one piece of double-sided paper.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge September Week 4

This week's challenge was set by Alibri. She challenged us to use a photo of either nature or landscape - as long as it doesn't include people or animals for 10 points, to use stamping for 10 points and finally to "alter" the lettering or the alphas for the final 10 points.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - New Introduction and Summary

I wasn't very keen on the original introduction page and so have re-done it and then done a summary page too.
I now just need to decide how I am going to print the album and present it. I am thinking of having it made into a photo book.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 30th

The last and final day of this fabulous project for another year. What an important month it has been for Zoe.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 29th

Daddy's birthday and Zoe chose a Cadbury's Flake cake for him. She wanted to put on enough candles for his age until I said how old he was and then she said "Perhaps we could just put 3 on Mummy!"

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 28th

School is making Zoe very tired. Tonight she was asleep in minutes.

The fascination with Hama beads continues. Our windows are full of them.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 26th

From being a naughty and grumpy child, Zoe seems to be turning a corner a bit. I am selecting what is worth battling over and what I will let go. I have ressurrected her Good Girl chart. 10 stickers for being good and she gets a treat of her choice.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 25th

Zoe's behaviour seems to be at an all time low at the moment. She was meant to be having a sleepover at her best friend's but I threatened her that she couldn't go if she didn't start behaving. Unfortunately, she carried on being really naughty and so now she isn't going.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 17th

Zoe has been playing with Hama beads at her after school club and today she got a house point at school for helping her friend who had hurt herself after falling over and as a treat I brought her some of her own Hama beads. So this afternoon, we made a bunny rabbit and a flower and she wants to give them to her best friend Edith and her little sister Darcey.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 12th and 13th

Day 12:
We decided that it was time for Zoe to learn how to ride her bike without the stabilisers. So off we went down to Poole Park to have a go. It was back breaking holding on to her bike. She didn't get it and she was getting very frustrated so we gave up after a while and decided to practice some more next weekend.

Day 13:
Zoe was really tired this morning and was almost asleep whilst eating her breakfast

This week's challenge was set by Amanda Mary. She challenged us to use pastel ice cream colours for 10 points, a photo of something that has changed for 5 points, journalling for 5 points and stripes for 10 points.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge August Week 5

Bit late posting this, but I did this layout for the weekly challenge over on UK Scrappers and I am also entering it for the A Trip Down Memory Lane September Sketch challenge which can be found here
The UKS challenge was set by The Indecisives and we were given 3 options. I went for option 1 which was:
- a mono layout for 10 points
- a minimum of 3 photos for 10 points
- use a stamped image for 5 points
- use journalling round the edge of the photo montage for 5 points.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 7th

Zoe was assigned to a house at school. Whilst walking home, I was telling her that she is in the green house and she said "No Mummy, I should be in the Yellow house!" And when I asked why, she said "Because our house is yellow!" So then I had to explain the house system at school as opposed to the colour of her home.

Learn Something New Everyday 2010 - 6th

Zoe is loving school and loves having her own reading book! I am sure we are going to get to know Biff, Chip and Kipper pretty well over the next few months.
