UK Scrappers - February Week 4

This week's challenge was set by the Bijoux Belles. We had to use a sketch (10 points), bold or bright papers (10 points), ribbon or fabric (5 points) and stitching (5 points).
This photo is of Zoe and her pal Edith playing horses. Edith is so skinny that I am surprised that she didn't collapse under the weight of Zoe.
I have used papers by Scenic Route, stitching using a Bazzill In Stitchz template and green thread, ribbons are wrapped round each paper and I used the sketch provided.

52 in 10 Project - Week Eight - Inspired NOT to be...

This week's prompt was about what or who has inspired us and had an influence on the choices we have made in our lives. Well I tackled this one in reverse and thought about someone who inspired me not to be something.
After finishing school I got caught up with a group of people who either had kids or pretty dead end jobs and for a while it was fun joining in with them. We had some great times and I will never forget them as they were the best friends that you could have but I knew I didn't want the same future as them and so I pulled my socks up, went off to uni and the rest as they say is history. I don't keep in touch with them anymore as our lives have gone off in different directions and sometimes I think I would love to see them again, catch up with what is happening in their lives - it is almost 20 years ago. It is thanks to them that I am where I am today. If they were to read this, I would hate them to think that I am belittling them in anyway, as I am not - I loved them like they were my sisters. I admire anyone who can bring up kids single handedly but I just knew I wanted more.
Crikey did I really go out looking like that! I am on the right with the blonde hair. I think I must have been about 17 or 18 in this photo and we were off to Sandford Labour Club on Christmas Eve.

Zoe album aged Three

I had a great idea about making a mini album for every year of Zoe's life. I want to use my favourite photo from each month in the album with a little bit of journalling. She was born in December so each album will start with December and end on November.
The first album I have made was of Zoe aged three. I have used a star book design and have used papers from the Imaginisce Fairest of Them All collection and 2 shades of pink Bazzill and green Bazzill cardstock. I used sheer pink ribbon for the tie. I have them made two ribbon flowers with buttons on and printed out a digital font for the title.
Now I just need to start her age 4, 2 and birth years albums now.

52 in 10 Project - Week Six - Traditions

I really struggled to think of what traditions that we have as a family and then one evening when I got home from work, I realised that we do have a tradition of sorts. Our slippers live in a line by the front door and the first thing we do when we get in, in the evenings, is to take our shoes off and put our slippers on. I thought our slippers look kind of cute all lined up waiting for us to come home.
I have used sketch 3 from A Trip Down Memory Lane here. I have just found this blog and love it, so I am also entering this layout into their challenge.
I have used pink Bazzill card and the green card is from the DCWV Doodling Around paper stack. The pink and yellow scalloped edge, picture corners, journalling block and hearts are all from My Little Shoebox Imagine a Forest range. The alphas are good old trusty Thickers. I have then added 2 layered flowers and lots of green and pink buttons.

Bunny Zoe's blog candy

Wow pop over to Bunny Zoe's blog to have a chance of winning her hugely generous blog candy to celebrate her 2 years of blogging. I don't really want to tell anyone as I want to win it!!!!! Her blog can be found here

Look at all this booty!!!

UK Scrappers - February Week 3

This week's challenge was set by The Scrapettes. We were challenged to do a layout about change for 10 points, use a fancy edge for 5 points, use red for another 5 points and finally use 10 of something for the final 10 points.
I have used photos of Zoe when she was first born. My journalling that goes round the page, details how much she has changed our lives since she was born 4 years ago. I have used Pencilline's sketch 174 by Sue Mylde. My font is red and there is a scalloped edge to the bottom of the page. I have used 10 flowers.

UK Scrappers - February Week 2

This week's challenge was set by Deelish and we had to use red for 10 points, hearts for 10 points and a song title or lyric with the word love in it for the final 10 points.
I have scraplifted a layout from March's Scrapbook Trends (Page 88 by Jen Gallacher). My hearts are on the ribbon, the red is the base card stock and the song title is "It Must Be Love" by Madness. This is Zoe and her beloved Connor taken on 23rd Dec 2009.

UK Scrappers - February Week 1

This week's challenge was set by Mystery Woman and the rules were to use a crown or bling for 10 points, use pink for 10 points and use old stash for the final 10 points. I have used some really old stash - the glittery vellum must be 2 or 3 years old. There is plenty of bling and 2 crowns and lots of pink. So full points for me.

52 in 10 Project - Week Five - Family

I have really enjoyed doing this week's layout. I have used a digital template to make the collage of photos of James and Zoe (which took about 3 hours).
The layout is pink and blue in real life but my light is rubbish and so it looks red and green.
