UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge August Week 4

This week's challenge was set by the Paper Addicts. Quite a simple challenge. We were asked to do something new for 10 points, something old for 10 points and some circles for the final 10 points.
I have used a photo of Zoe in her new school uniform. The papers are old ones that I had in my odds and ends cut off box. There are lost of circles.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge # 7 Donna's Sketch

I just love these Kenny K digi images - they are cute but kind of sexy too!!!
I have used Devilish Donna (how apt) and coloured her using my Promarker pens and used Art Glitter crystal glitter for her wings to give her some sparkle. I have then followed the sketch and converted it for an easel card and used foiled papers from the Rockstar paper stack by DCWV. These are black and cerise pink but haven't shown up to well in the photo. I have also used Pebbles Inc ribbons. I have flocked around the edge of the circle and added some gems. The sentiment has been mounted onto a Prima flower and then a velvet Bazzill flower.

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 126

This week we were given a sketch by Fran. The challenge can be found here.

I have used the new Wags n Whiskers Hannah stamp. I love this little dumpy fairy. I have coloured her using Promarkers and then gone round the outline using a Sakura glitter pen. The papers are from a My Minds Eye paper stack and I have used Martha Stewart's buterfly punch for the border. The flowers are various Prima ones that I have put Stickles on the edges for a bit of glittery bling. The sentiment is printed on the computer.
I am also entering this for the Wags n Whiskers challenge number 29 here. The challenge was to use 3 of something. I have used 3 layers of flowers and rows of 3 gems.

Pro-markers Challenge Week 65 - Theme

This week's challenge is Winter Blue. I have made an easel card and used my new Wags n Whiskers stamp called Angelica. She is coloured using my lovely trusty Promarkers and the blue papers are various ones from a My Minds Eye paper stack.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge August Week 3

This week's challenge was set by Scrap Happens and we had to use pink or blue for 5 points, use 3 of something for 5 points, the layout had to be about a celebration for 10 points and the final 10 points was to use bunting on the page.
We recently went to dinner at some friends and the kids went off upstairs and came back down and announced that they were getting married. Zoe was the groom (dressed as Stephanie from Lazy Town, Eva was the bride and little Jay was the best man - obviously dressed as Superman! This was my celebration theme, I have used a pink background, there are 3 flowers on the bottom of the layout and the bunting is in the top corner.
I am also entering this for A Trip Down Memory Lane's Sketch Inspiration no 13 challenge too that can be found here

Tiddlyinks Challenge No 16 - Windows

For this week's challenge we had to create a project with a window. I have lots of aperture cards but they weren't quite the right shape or size, so I set about making one of my own using Nesties.

I have used Cup of Love Lily Bean digi image which I played around with in Photoshop Elements.
Basically I made her a bit bigger and then copied her. On one of the images I deleted the cup and on the other I deleted Lily - to end up with just a Lily and just a cup. The idea was that the cup would be on the inside of the card and be visible through the window and then Lily would be on the outside of the card. When the card is closed she still looks like she is holding the cup up. It took lots of fiddling to get the sizes right and to make sure the cup was on the right angle to be seen through the window.

I have then coloured her using Promarkers and added some glitter using Sakura glitter pens and used various odds and ends of paper, ribbon and pins to make the card.

The card closed - see she is holding up the cup:
A close up with the card slightly open. The cup is visible through the window and Lily has nothing in her hands.
The inside of the card - just the cup.
And just another picture - in case you didn't get the idea!
I have probably spent 4 or 5 hours on this card. Not that it looks like to be get everything just right and lined up was very time consuming.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge August Week 2

This week's challenge was set by Deelish and she says the following:

"Holidays bring us some of our favourite memories, and also give us something to look forward to in the darker months whilst we busy ourselves at home and at work. Many of us have aspirations of places we want to go to, things we'd like to do, so this challenge is all about getting those down onto a page. The title is "Wish I was here", so, tell us all. Where would you love to go if you didn't have to worry about time, money, responsibilities at home or at work?"

So for 5 points, we had to use the Wish I Was Here title. For 10 points we had to show photos of the location and for another 10 points we had to journal why we wanted to go there and the final 5 points was being awarded for saying what you would bring back.

The Monday Mania challenge was to make a card with buttons on. I lurve buttons!!!

I have used the Creeper Crew Tuesday stamp and coloured her in using Promarkers. The papers are from the DeLovely Mini Deck by Cosmo Cricket. These are perfect for card making. I have used a Nestabilitie to make a rectangular frame around the image and then added some ribbons and ofcourse some buttons.

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge # 5 and Promarker Week 64 - Music

I have made this card for 2 challenges. Check out these fab digi stamps made by Kenny K - I love them as they are so funky - so different from the cutesy stamps that I usually use. He has a weekly challenge which can be found here. The theme for this challenge was Summertime.
I have also entered for this week's Promarker challenge and their theme was music.

I have used Download Diva stamp (she is listening to her iPod - hence the music connection). I have coloured her in using Promarkers (as always) and use bright summery colours. The papers are from Dovecraft and are called Wild Blossom. I have then added some zingy ribbon and matching flowers and gems.

Club Anya Saturday Sketch

I am so into making cards at the minute and am absolutely loving digital stamps. I love it that you can order it and have it straight away and start to play - resize it, flip it etc.
This is my card for Saturday's Club Anya challenge - here
I have followed the sketch and made it into an easel card. The image is Dressy Ebony and she is coloured using my trusty Promarkers. The papers are all from Basic Grey and I have distressed the edges a bit. Not sure where the sentiment stamp is from - think it was a freebie.

And close up...

Promarker Storage

I cannot take the credit for this as I have seen it on this blog here , but I thought it was so fab that I decided to make one for myself.
The DVD rack is from Ikea and is called Boalt and cost the princely sum of £7.99.
I then painted it with a metallic pink acrylic paint. I haven't painted all of the insides as once the DVD cases are in, you cannot see inside it.

I had planned on covering it with pretty papers but I think due to the slots down the side, there is a danger of the paper getting torn, so I am leaving it just painted. Unfortunately I have run out of paint so the side slots will have to be painted later.
Then I bought 3 packs of 5 DVD cases from The Range for £1.49 each. These go into the DVD rack in every other slot.
I then made up my colour chart in Word using a table. The colour row was 0.8cm tall with 11 columns across. Then I put in another row that was only 0.3cm tall and typed in the name of each pen.
I printed this out and coloured in each rectangle with the appropriate pen. I then cut it into strips and put into the spine of each case.
As I coloured each rectangle, I also coloured in a white round label and put this on the fat end of each pen.
Each shelf holds 11 pens and there are 14 shelves and so holds all 147 pens perfectly.
And here it is - the finished unit! And all for £12.46. I am so pleased with it!!!
I used to house all my pens in 3 RUB boxes and it was a nightmare to find the right pen each time, but now it is easy. I used them this morning to colour the image in on the card on the post below and it was so quick!

Tiddlyinks Challenge No 15 - Fit for a Princess

I have just found these gorgeous digi stamps from a company called Tiddlyinks. Crikey I could have bought the whole shop. They have weekly challenges that can be found here. This week's challenge is to create a Princess card. So I used the Everyday Princess digi stamp - isn't she gorgeous?
I have coloured her using Promarkers. The papers are from Dovecraft and are called Wild Blossom. I have also used my new butterfly dies from Joy Crafts and new Nellie's Multi Frames.
I have made my first ever Easel card. Think this is going to be my new favourite thing!!! They are so easy to make and yet look so good.

Pro-markers Challenge Week 63 - Sketch

I haven't taken part in this challenge in ages but have recently got back into card making and what better way to keep motivated than to enter a few challenges - have a try at this one?

This week we were given a sketch to follow:
PFP challenge 63 sketch

The image used is a stamp called Little Girl Bear Hugs by High Hopes - isn't she cute? Zoe goes everywhere with her teddy and so this really reminds me of her. She is obviously coloured using my fab Promarkers. The papers are all from the De Lovely mini deck of papers by Cosmo Cricket - absolutely perfect for card making.
I had added some Prima flowers and some flat back pearls and ribbon.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge August Week 1

This week's challenge was set by the Fruitloops and although was quite simple took a bit of thinking about! And I have finished it mid-week rather than in a rush on a Sunday!
I have combined it with Class 8 of Create 10. Oh how I have loved this class.

We had to use the theme of education or learning for 10 points - I have used the photo of Zoe and her pre-school friends on their last day before leaving to start "big" school.
Use either 123 or ABC for 10 points - part of the Create 10 class was to use up all the odd numbers left over on alpha sheets - perfect!
And finally to use at least one of the primary colours - red, blue or yellow for the final 10 points. I think my layout has every colour going on it, but my base is yellow.

She is coloured using Pro Markers.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge July Week 4 & Create 10 Class 5

I am steadily working my way through the Create 10 classes still. I have combined class 5 with this week's challenge on UKS.
The UKS challenge was set by Mrs Cheshire and we had to:
- Scrap in a different size to normal for 10 points - my layout is 12 x 10.5"
- Use ribbon for 5 points - my equal signs are made of ribbon and I have used a Martha Stewart ribbon border punch to lace ribbon down each side of the layout
- Use scraps for 5 points - well that is the whole point of the Create 10 classes!
- Have journalling on show for the final 10 points - my love and hate things.
