52 in 10 Project - Week Four - Music

This week we were asked to do a layout about our musical tastes. I think I have quite an eclectic choice in music as I like such a varied range of it.
I did a double layout using pictures of album covers showing some of my favourites. The journalling is about my tastes. The photos make them look a bit on the slant but they are fine in real life.

UK Scrappers - January Week 4

This week's challenge was set by DawnHallyBone. We had to use a photo of something rather than someone (10 points), use journalling (5 points),use a sketch (5 points), use ribbon (5 points), use bling (5 points).
My layout is about the new challenge the 365 girls from 2008 are doing this year. My sketch is from Page Maps and is on page 40 of the book. My journalling reads:
"Us 365 ladies from 2008 started a new challenge for 2010. We all chose a toy and we tak turns to do the daily prompts. Basically we follow our toys for the whole year, taking photos and journalling about what they get up to. I have Pamela Pink who is a pink bendy toy. She has been dumped by her long term boyfriend Jeffery. Above is Clemmie and to the left is Bongo. Both have developed a bit of a soft spot for Pamela. So there is a bit of love triangle going on. Plus Jeffery has turned up again and he has proposed to Pamela. She is in a right quandry and really doesn't know what to do"
You can catch up on Pamela here

UK Scrappers - January Week 3

This week's challenge was set by Missusem (Sue) who challenged us to scrap a piece of history. We had to use an old photo that is meaningful to us.
Well I don't seem to have many old photos so I chose to use an occasion that created a piece of history - Zoe's naming ceremony. The photo of James and Zoe where she is chewing on the christening gown is one of my all time favourite photos. The gown is over a hundred years old and has been worn by many of the Vineys at their christenings.

52 in 10 Project - Week Three - Advice

This week, the prompt was if you could go back in time and give yourself some advice what it would be. This was an easy one for me.

The journalling reads:
If I could go back in time and give myself some advice, then it would be not to settle for second best and that my Mr Right will be out there. Due to my low self esteem, I went out with anyone who showed a little bit of interest in me. I ended up going out with some real wasters. Luckily James came along and rescued me and showed me that I was worth more than that.

Sugar Bowl - Challenge #27 Kathy's Sketch

I am really enjoying making cards again. It is so much easier when you have a sketch to work to. I have used Manga Girl #2 and coloured her in using Pro Markers. We were asked to distress the card and so I have sanded all the edges of each layer.

Anyone for Anya Card Challenge - That's Charming and PaperTake Sketch #32

I have made this card for the That's Charming challenge over on Anyone for Anya here. I have also used the same card for the Papertake challenge Sketch #32 here . I loved the sketch - so easy to work with. I have used the Dahlia stamp and coloured her in using Pro Markers. The papers are by Imaginisce. I have used the Flower Shower corner punch from the Martha Stewart range. The papers are mounted on turquoise glitter card. I have added some ribbon and a heart metal charm.

UK Scrappers - January Week 2

This week's challenge was set by Twilight Addicts. The challenge was to do a layout about forbidden fruits - 10 points, use ribbons - 10 points and use either blossoms or bling for the final 10 points.
It is my birthday today and then tomorrow my diet starts again, so although I love jelly beans after tomorrow they will be my forbidden fruits. I have used 2 lots of ribbons, one is silvery blingy rikrak and I have also used flowers and gems. So full points for me!

52 in 10 Project - Week Two - NY Resolutions

This week's prompt was to do a layout about our goals for the new year. I always think it is important to only a few goals as then they are easier to keep. I chose to do my layout about my goal to lose some weight again. I lost quite a bit the year before last, but then last year it started to creep back on again and so my goal this year is to get back to 9 stone 8lbs or even less if I can.
Scrapdolly has challenged us to use some stitiching on the layout so I got my sewing machine out but it didn't like to sew on the card - think I killed it. So I ended up drawing my stitches on.

UK Scrappers - January Week 1

I am going to try and do every one of the weekly challenges over on UK Scrappers. I am really getting back into real life crafting rather than all the digi I have been doing. Digi is great when all your stash is packed away and also the stash is alot cheaper. But that said, there is nothing better than stroking real life papers!
So this week's challenge was set by BeckyG1 and we had to use the sketch provided (10 points), scrap a celebration (10 points) and use ribbon for the final 10 points.
I have scrapped photos from Zoe's 4th birthday party, used the sketch (albeit changed it lightly) and used 2 lots of ribbons - so full points for me!
The photo makes the ribbon at the bottom of the page look crooked, but it isn't in real life.

Anyone for Anya Card Challenge - Anything Goes

Look at this, no cards in ages and then two in one day.
I found this Anyone for Anya challenge blog from Kaz's wonderful blog so thought I would have a go. The theme was anything goes. I have used one of the Anya's from the first collection and coloured her in using Pro Markers. I have used a Martha Stewart punch and mounted her on blue glitter card. The paper is from DCWV's Blossoms and Butterflies paper stack. I have then added a sentiment cut using Nestabilities

Whiff of Joy Challenge - Number 61 - Aqua and Red

Well I can't remember the last time I made a card let alone entered a challenge. We have been moving house, so all my stash was packed away for a few months whilst we moved. But now I have my own craft room and so am back into crafting again.
Here is my card. I have used Melinda blowing kisses and coloured her in using Pro Markers. I have used a Martha Stewart punch to make the corner details.

52 in 10 Project - Week One - The Noughties

Today I have started another year long project - I love these! Scrap Dolly over on UKS os hosting a new project called 52 in 10. Basically she is turning 50 this year and so wants to mark the year with a project about her. It can be found here. Please join us.

The prompts come out every Sunday and today's is all about the last decade. So here is mine.
What a nightmare I had finding a photo of me 10 years ago. This was before digital cameras and so I was flicking through packets of photos and had to scan this one in.
I hate my handwriting but seeing as this is about me, I thought I had better use my handwriting rather than a computer font.
The journalling reads:
"I have never got into trouble or anything but I did waste my late teenage years and early twenties on silly relationships and I could have worked harder on my A levels and my degree.
But my life has totally changed in the last decade. And all for the better!!! I met James in 1998 and changed jobs in 1999 so all before the last decade but it seems they were the catalyst for change.
I started the decade as at least a size 18 and god only knows how much I weighed and I ended the decade as a size 12 and weighing 10 stone.
I moved in with James into the flat in about 2001 and we got engaged in 2002 after I had a car accident on the M3. He must have realised that he couldn’t live without me ;-)
We got married in a beautiful church ceremony in July 2004 and honeymooned in Jamaica. The Christmas of that year we decided to try for a baby and Zoe was conceived in March 2005. She was born in December 2005 after a wonderfully easy pregnancy. It all got a bit marred by me having kidney stones at the end of the pregnancy and then having a couple of stays in hospital whilst they figured out what was wrong. But it all got sorted in the end and I settled into the totally alien world of being a mummy.
Motherhood has totally changed me and although I still love my job it is definitely no longer the “be all and end all” of my life. My family is my priority now and although Zoe can be very hard work at times, it is incredibly rewarding to see her growing up and developing into a sweet and polite child.
In 2009, we moved house – from a 2 bed flat to a 4 bed house out in the country – just perfect to bring Zoe up in and for the best of schools.
I hope that 2010 and the following decade will be just as rewarding as the last one and that we all continue to be happy, healthy and content to be ourselves
Bring on the Teenies!!!"

Pamela has moved

Pamela has her own blog now and it can be found here

Pamela's Hopes and Dreams

Hi me again!

Well Claire asked me what my hopes and dreams were and I had to think long and hard. I went upstairs to my bedroom and sat looking in the mirror and hoped that firstly I can get myself some new clothes as Post It Notes as so last year! I managed to find this very short dress but it is not really suitable for these cold months so I am hoping to go into town later to get some new clothes. You know what they say a new year, a new look!!! I definitely don't want to look too trampy!
I hope I will make some new friends this year, maybe even find true love and just basically have a lot of fun.

Pamela's Party in 2010

Hi

My name is Pamela Pinky. It appears that you will be following me for the next year. I am not sure if you will find my life very exciting as I have been sat on Claire's desk at work for the last year or so and have seen no action at all. I am hopeful that I will get to see some adventure now though!
As I said my name is Pamela and here are a few details about myself.

I am a raven haired beauty, a twenty something, girl about town. I am 5 inches tall (fully stretched) and weigh 40 grams - about average for my height. A girl has to watch her weight you know. I am an only child but left home some years ago. I am currently single after being dumped by Jeffery after he went back to his wife and 3 children. But that is fine as he was a bit of a loser as he just sits on Ali's desk all the time. His life is so dull whereas mine is about to get very exciting - hopefully!!!
So I am happy leading the single life but I am looking for love - so if you know any eligible batchelors, then let me know. There is no way I want to be the other woman again! Far too much heartache.
I love a good party and will always be the last one on the dancefloor. I do like a glass of Pinot Grigio or two. I am just taking driving lessons at the moment so I am fully mobile for this project. Obviously those two things don't go together too well.
Here is my photo - I have just had my hair done and I am hoping for some new clothes - post it notes don't keep you very warm you know. Well that is enough about me for a while - see you again soon!
