UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - October Wk 4

This week's challenge was set by Sarah aka Still Crafting. She asked us to:
Paper scrapper – use printed item / Digi scrapper – use scanned or photographed item (your main photograph(s) themselves don’t count) – 10 points
10 embellishments – 10 points
Freebie – 10 points

I have used a photograph of the Peppa Pig World sign and cut it digitally and added a white border to make it into a sticker. I have used 10 staples and the very background paper is a freebie from Dawn Inskip. The rest of the elements are from a kit by Dawn called A Wonderful World.

Stampin' Up - I've only gone and done it!

Stampin' Up UK Website

I have been um-ing and ah-ing about whether to join the Stampin' Up family and become an independent demonstrator. Well yesterday, I took the plunge and signed up.
I am now waiting to get my mitts on the scrummy starter kit and get this exciting new project off the ground.
My head is buzzing with ideas and I can't wait to get going!
I am setting up a new blog which will be totally Stampin' Up related - it is work in progress but hopefully I will get it all sorted over the weekend! It can be found here and I will put a Blinkie on this blog so you can always get to it. My Stampin' Up blog will have samples of things I have made and details of special offers etc - generally all things Stampin' Up related.

This blog will remain for my other crafting things that I do.

So I would love it if you could help me to get started and have a little look at my new blog and there is a link to the new 2011-12 catalogue. Have a look through and see if there is anything you fancy buying or maybe adding to your Christmas list. Then e-mail or ring me and I will more than pleased to help you. Contact details can be found on the right hand side.

Thanks

Shimelle's Pretty Paper Party

I have signed up for this 4 week course by Shimelle.

As always it is amazing but I am not sure how much I will get done of it but here is one page that I completed last night from lesson 1. Excuse the poor photography but it is getting so dark so early now.

And The Crumblies were born

A couple of weeks ago I went on our annual 365 retreat and we decided that we should make ourselves into a team on UK Scrappers. We couldn't decide on a name but whilst looking through the dessert menu at dinner on the Saturday night, we came up with The Crumblies.
I hadn't done any real life scrapping in ages and I went into overdrive and got loads done:

This was the speed scrap challenge that Barbara set us! She taught us how to make pin wheels - I went back and added them one of my previous layouts too! Had to stop myself from adding them to everything!
This is a double layout using a pagemap sketch from October 2011
This is using another Pagemap sketch from October.
This was using another Pagemap sketch - think it was Jan 2011.
Pretty sure this was using a sketch but don't know which one!
Another double layout:

A pretty productive weekend.
Shirley came for the day and showed us to do a few messy things too!
Roll on March for the next retreat!

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - October Wk 3

I have loved doing this week's challenge. We are having a big halloween party and so it really got me in the spooky mood!
The challenge was set by AllyCatD. The rules were to use a single photo in any size but the usual 4x6 size for 10 points, to use halloween colours for 10 points and to use a stamp in real life scrapping or a brush if doing it digi for the final 10 points!
I have used a square photo, Studio Flerg's Spookilicious digi kit and a brush set by Pureanodyne. All the cobwebs are done using brushes.
The photo is of Zoe in 2008 - she looks so young and cute.

Digi CJ - my page for Alibi

This is my digi CJ page for Marion aka Alibi. Her theme is Nature in all it's glory. I have used a photo of a dahlia that I took at the New Forest show - such a beautiful flower and so intricate in their shape.
I have used Dawn Inskip's new digi kit called Wrecked.

Shimelle Sketch of the Week - 12th October

I really missed Shimelle's sketch last week and couldn't wait to play with this weeks.
I have used Dawn Inskip's new Wrecked digi kit. I was looking through the many photos I took whilst on our 365 retreat, I was laughed when I noticed the similarity between the sock snowman line up and our group photo.

UK Scrappers Weekly Challenge - October Wk 2

This week's challenge was set by ScattyChick. She asked us to create a layout about a mum for 10 points, use 3 different shapes for 10 points, use bling for 5 points and journalling for the final 5 points.
My layout is a photo of Zoe less than a week old and of me, a week before she was born. My shapes are a square (for the layout shape), a circle and rectangular photos.
I have used Dawn Inskip's Welcome to the World digi kit.
30 points for The Crumblies!

UKS Monthly Challenge for October

I am on a 365 retreat this weekend and have got lots done. I have done the monthly challenge - in digi as usual.
We also decided to make us remaining 365 girls (way back from 2008) into a points collecting team on UKS. So I resigned from Crafty Magpies and this is my first challenge for our new team The Crumblies.
I have used Dawn Inskip's digi it called Softly Spooky.

Did CJ - Mole's Page

This the page I did for Mole's CJ. Her theme is Water and she did say we could do a tenuous link to her theme. Think I have achieved this!

Another great sketch from Shimelle can be found here. I think I have done every one of these weekly sketches now.
I have used Studio Flergs' new digi kit called Spookilicious.
