Day 98 - Monday 7th April

“Habit is the 6th sense that overrules the other 5" - Arab Proverb

Do you have a habit, be it a good one or a bad one?

This prompt is very similar to one a couple of weeks ago and I journalled about my bad habit of being an impulsive shopper for things that I convince myself I need and then I don’t get round to using it.

Others on UK Scrappers have journalled about habits that have become routine or routines that have become habit. Well I have plenty of these as being a working mum I have to be organised and have routines to follow otherwise I would never get anything done or achieved.

I think my worst habit relating to this is being happy when Zoë has gone to bed as by then all my jobs have been done and I can have my time to do my crafting and spend hours on UKS – but then that is another bad habit to be saved for another time and place!

Day 97 - Sunday 6th April

“I would rather have eyes that cannot see; ears that cannot hear; lips that cannot speak, than a heart that cannot love” - Robert Tizon

Carrying on with our theme of the senses this week

I have never felt love as intense as my love for my daughter. She has turned my world upside down and has changed my life forever more. I feel like she has made my life complete. Every morning when I get her out of bed my heart contracts with pride for the beautiful little girl we have bought into this world. She makes me wonder at how amazing she is and how she changes every day - how she is growing and how she is developing.

As much as I love her, she is hard work and tonight is no exception. She always has a bath on a Sunday night and tonight she is quite late with it. Once she is bathed, she has to have her hair dried – this is an ordeal as you have to chase her around the bedroom – on and over the bed. Then she has her teeth washed. All of this is a battle and she can push you to your limit so easily.
These photos show what a little monster she can be!

Wedding Stationery Samples

I am doing the wedding stationery for my oldest friend who gets married in September. She hasn't really given me much to go on other than the groom to be will have burgundy on his waistcoat.

I have come up with 4 designs so far using Cuttlebug embossing folders. My husband thinks they need some words on them but I don't want to stamp and emboss and definitely do not want to usepeel offs so not sure what to do. I was just thinking of leaving it off. Any advice or tips welcome.

Which is your favourite?

Day 96 - Saturday 5th April

"Touch”

Another difficult one to interpret.
My nails seem to grow very quickly and are always very strong. I tend not to cut them until one of them breaks but they were getting too long and I was struggling to type and they were making crafting quite difficult. I was having trouble putting my contact lenses in and so it was time to cut them off.
The downside to cutting my nails is that they make everything I touch feel strange. The end of my fingers feel sort of numb and it takes a couple of days for them to get back to normal. The upside is that I have typed this really quickly with hardly any mistakes!!!

Day 95 - Friday 4th April

"Taste" - sweet, sour, salty, sharp

Today I have decided something!

As of Monday, I am going to start dieting – well when I say dieting, I mean stop eating all the rubbish I eat.
We have just under 2 months until our holiday and I really need to get into shape if I am going to be exposing my body. I don’t wear bikinis but even the thought of me in a swimsuit at the moment is not a good one.
One of my goals at the beginning of the year was to lose some weight and I have made no inroads into this. So what better incentive than a lovely warm sunny holiday to get me going. I weighed myself this morning and I am 10 st 9lbs.
So today this will be the last one of these for a while ...

Day 94 - Thursday 3rd April

"Smell"

I have really struggled with this prompt today as I didn’t want to do the obvious things but I just can’t think of anything other than...
... Some smells are nice. I love the smell of perfumes, my favourite being Nina Ricci’s Apple. I love the smell of fresh flowers as long as it isn’t lavender. I love the smell of washing that has been dried outside. However there are other smells that I really cannot stomach and one of these is coffee.
We often get given samples at work and the other day I got some fresh ground coffee. It is called Grumpy Mule and I knew just the person for it. James really likes coffee. So I bought it home along with a Cafetiere. Whilst making him the coffee I was almost gagging as the coffee has such a strong odour to me.
Needless to say he loved it and now I have to live with the horrible smell everyday. Even taking this photo was horrible.

Day 93 - Wednesday 2nd April

"Hear, listen"

What do your ears hear today?

Normally the evenings are hectic with me getting everything ready for the next day and can be very noisy. I like to have the radio on in the kitchen and the telly is on in the lounge for Zoë to watch CBeebies. James and Zoë like to have a rough and tumble play time for half an hour before bedtime which can get very noisy and boisterous. However tonight we were a bit late home for various reasons and so after dinner, instead of playtime, Zoë had some melon.
Melon is her favourite fruit and you cannot get anything out her whilst she is eating it. She will eat a whole bowl of it in one sitting.
So I hear nothing and but am listening to her enjoying her healthy pudding.
