This week's prompt was about what or who has inspired us and had an influence on the choices we have made in our lives. Well I tackled this one in reverse and thought about someone who inspired me not to be something.
After finishing school I got caught up with a group of people who either had kids or pretty dead end jobs and for a while it was fun joining in with them. We had some great times and I will never forget them as they were the best friends that you could have but I knew I didn't want the same future as them and so I pulled my socks up, went off to uni and the rest as they say is history. I don't keep in touch with them anymore as our lives have gone off in different directions and sometimes I think I would love to see them again, catch up with what is happening in their lives - it is almost 20 years ago. It is thanks to them that I am where I am today. If they were to read this, I would hate them to think that I am belittling them in anyway, as I am not - I loved them like they were my sisters. I admire anyone who can bring up kids single handedly but I just knew I wanted more.Crikey did I really go out looking like that! I am on the right with the blonde hair. I think I must have been about 17 or 18 in this photo and we were off to Sandford Labour Club on Christmas Eve.
