Whilst I was on my hols, a colleague had their first baby - a little girl called Lucy and so I got the chance to make them a card. I used papers from the Spring Stack from DCWV for the letters which I cut using my Craft Robo. The backing paper on the card is from The Glitter Stack also from DCWV. The hedgehog is a sticker from the Penny Black range which I mounted on pink pearlescent Bazzill card. I outlined the card with some silver peel offs and tied a ribbon around it. When I took it to work for some others to sign and people asked how I managed to buy a card with name Lucy on it - I was well chuffed with this!!!

Loverrrrrly Holiday
We have been away to Jersey for 5 nights and it was fantastic. The weather was pretty good which is always a bonus. Jersey is beautiful - I can definitely recommend it!!! Living in Poole, we took the Condor ferry over with the car, which meant we could explore the island to our hearts content. We went with the in-laws who loved spending so much time with their beautiful granddaughter.
Zoe was so good all holiday. We went on a day's coach trip and she was really well behaved all day. Everybody commented on how good she was. We had lunch in a little bay and wandered down onto the beach - she loved jumping on the sand.
We visited Gerald Durrel's zoo which was brilliant. Their orangutangs were brilliant to watch. We also visited an orchid farm which had the most beautiful orchids there. I love orchids but really struggle to grow them successfully. I got some fabby photos of the orchids.

I have really must get on with making my Christmas cards now - but I don't seem to have any inspiration at all. I have got 11 cards to make for a swap by 15th October - argh!!!!

Day Off
I decided to do the ironing the end last night and no crafting at all. I have a couple of busy days ahead of me. Thursday and Friday I am at management conference at the Eden Project in Cornwall that my company is organising. And then we are off on our family hols at the weekend - nothing too glam, just to Jersey. Wednesdays are my day off, so I should be busy packing but no my lovely Bellas have kept me occupied and I have made another card for the UKS September challenge. But I was good, I did do the housework first!!! Of course I should be concentrating on coming up with a design for my christmas cards. I have been looking at all my stash, but nothing seems to fit the bill - they have to be glitzy!!!
So my card is using DCWV Pocket Full of Posies paper, lilac pearlescent card that I embossed using my new Sizzix Texturising plates. I have watercoloured Winobella in orange and did her dress frill using a purple Sakura glitter pen. The glasses are also coloured using the clear Sakura pen and the bottle, I coloured using a green Sakura Glaze pen. I then added a Bazzill Bling flower with a couple of paper flowers in the middle all attached using a purple crystal brad. Added a couple of rub on sentiments et voila!!! Quite pleased with this one - I like the bright colours!!!
I did a christmas card the other day for the same challenge.

Christmas Card Swap
I have been accepted to join a Christmas card swap on the UK Scrappers website and whilst I am excited because it is my first swap and I am also a bit scared in case my cards aren't good enough and then the other ladies in the group will be disappointed when they receive my cards.
Yesterday Zoe got her first birthday party invite from a boy from nursery. How sweet!!! The party is in October so a little way off yet. Being a first time mum, I am not really sure of the etiquette rules for such occasions. She is only 21 months so I presume that I will stay with her for the duration of the party. Then there is the question of what to buy for a present bearing in mind I can't even picture the boy who's party it is. Looking on the bright side, I will be able to use the robo cop to make a No 2 card!!!!
Right better get my Christmas card design sorted out!!! Either that or do the ironing!!!

Welcome
Hi to anybody who is reading my very first attempt at a blog.
I love visiting the UK Scrappers website http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/ - I was bought a Craft Robo (or Robo Cop as I like to call it) by my darling husband a couple of months ago and I was advised to use this website as there is always plenty of help to be found on there - and what good advice it was. I have downloaded numerous templates for the Robo Cop and have actually made some of my own after following all the fabby tutorials.
Then I started looking at other forums on the site and have got a bit addicted to the card making one. I love entering the challenges and have made several cards for them. My favourite to date was for the September challenge using a sketch from the Page Maps site http://www.pagemaps.com/. I made a monochromatic card using Doodlebug papers, glittered butterfly stamps, Bazzill card and a dreaded peel off!!

I am hoping this blog will encourage me to keep making cards so that I have something to post on to my blog. So please keep revisiting my blog to see what I get up to. I hope it isn't too boring and hopefully as my card making skills improve you will start to see some fabby cards.
Right I am off to colour some beautiful Bella stamps that I bought from First Class Crafts http://www.firstclasscrafts.co.uk/ on Friday which popped through my door on Saturday morning - what service eh?
