That is it - my last 2 Christmas cards for the year

Talk abut last minute but I have just finished my last two cards for Christmas. Both for Grandads. My Dad is a farmer and so I just knew that the Sugar Nellie Hamish with a tractor was ideal for his card from my daughter Zoe. He has a red tractor so I coloured the image in with a red tractor. For speed, I thought I would make Zoe's other Grandad the same card but coloured the tractor in in green. I used a Sizzix die cut of a jigsaw for the background and used various colours of Bazzill card.

Merry Christmas to everyone.

I hope Santa brings you everything you wish for!!!

Lots of Love

Maggie and Hamish

I have recently bought some of the gorgeous new stamps from Funky Kits following on from the fantastic Sugar Nellies. The new ranges are of Maggie and Hamish and wee Angus the dog. My husband bought me 8 of them for Christmas but I managed to convince him to let me have them early. Http://www.funkykits.co.uk. Look on the Sugar Nellie blog to see the fabby designs http://sugarnellie.blogspot.com/

I have made a Christmas card for my step mum. The backing paper is from DCWV Christmas stack and I have put some stickles on each of the white spots. The stars were a freebie from one of the card making magazines.

The next card I have made for my mother in law using Maggie and Hamish and wee Angus. She has always had Westie doggies so I knew this combo would be ideal for her. The second image is just a close up of the stamped images

Three posts in one day!!!!

Crikey I don't post all week and then I do three in one day.

Here are some more Christmas cards I have made.

Some more of my Christmas cards

I have been trying to make special cards for my immediate family and have come up the following one. The starburst or snowflake shape was on the SplitCoasters website originally made by using 2 sizes of tag punches. I think KittyPuss made a card using this method and then the very talented YorkieMumFlUSA aka Pam designed a template for the Craft Robo to do the same shape. She did two templates with different number of points. These can be found on the UKS website

So I have used Pam's 11 point template and slightly altered it to make 2 different sizes of starburst. I have cut 2 of the larger shapes using some Self Adhesive glittery card from Hobbycraft on my Craft Robo - one in pink and one in a silvery blue. I have peeled off the backing and stuck the shapes on to some embossed glittery vellum. I have then layered these together using sticky pads. I then cut two of the smaller shapes again one in pink and one in blue and put them onto the same vellum. Again these are layered together and then stuck onto the larger shapes. Not sure that any of this makes sense. Here is a close up of the Starburst - it is quite raised in real life.

The wording on the card is based on another template from the UKS Craft Robo templates which I slightly altered. This is cutting using the same self adhesive card from Hobbycraft, which cuts beautifully on the Craft Robo - even with my blunt blade.

I have posted up two cards as I have layered the starbursts in different colourways - pink and then blue and blue and then pink!!

Thanks to Pam and ShelleysArt for the Craft Robo templates.

Handmade Christmas Card swap

I recently took part in a swap on the UKS website. I made 3 cards and received 3 cards back. The first was from Hollies Mum aka Sandra White. It is a lovely decoupage card with a Santa and Christmas trees on it.
The next card is by Anna M aka Anne which is a beautiful paper pieced Snowman bauble.

The last card is by Mrs 007 Bond aka Lisa which has a sparkly Tilda on it. A totally beautiful card.
I love taking part in these swaps and will definitely do some more in the New Year

Christmas workload

Well I am slowly working my way through the loads of Christmas cards I have to make. They seem to be taking forever. Here are some more of my quicker efforts.

The first ones are using a free decoupage teddy sheet from a magazine.

The next ones are using some blue glittery peel offs that I have mounted on to acetate and cut round. I have used Craft Creations rub ons that I have then applied glitter to for the greeting and some pretty blue ribbon. Very quick and simple
The next 2 are using the same peel offs but in a white glitter and I have mounted them on to black ribbed card.

The last one was made using the same Craft Creation rub ons and I have used a aperture card so the glittered images are inside the card. I have edged the apertures with some peel offs and glittered a greeting.
