Glitzy Christmas Card swap

This week I received the cards back from the UKS Glitzy Christmas Card swap that Monica (Passion Flower) hosted. This is the first swap I have taken part in and now I have signed myself up for another - only 3 cards this time. The cards I got back are fantastic. Now I can post up the cards that I sent out for the swap and the cards I got back. I would love to know who in the swap got my cards and then see what I received back in return. I will put the cards I got first and then my cards I sent out next. If I find out who got which of my cards, I will edit the post and the pictures in that order.

Here goes (I hope my photography does them justice - it is so dark and dingy today)

Firstly Monica's card. This is simply stunning. Acetate stamped with sparkly trees and snowflakes. The card is in 2 shades of brown. Gorgeous - as always!!!!
The next card is from Teresa (Teacake). In black, green and red - the colours go together so well!!! I love the glittery holly and handbag.

The next card is from Heather D. A lovely stamped image of Santa Claus with a dark sumptious blue velvet ribbon and blue gems.

The next card is by Debbie (Dibby) and is a lovely unusual fold (i.e. I don't know what the technical name for the fold is!!!) All the edges are glittered in green with a lovely huge poinsettia bloom on it. I love the paper - I have some of it too!!! May have to case this one!!!!

The next card is by Iana and again is simple but stunning using pink vellum with a beautiful angel stamped on to it and some lovely pink brads.

The next card is my 2 year (almost) daughter's favourite. I think she is just beginning to understand who Father Christmas and her little face lights up every time she sees the card. It is made by Cath and even the enevelope was stamped front and back. The card had a lovely greeting inside too. The photo does not show how glittery Santa's hat is. Fabby!!!!

The next card is by Nicola and is using a Magnolia stamp. I love this stamp and ordered it from Funky Kits yesterday. Not sure what was used to colour it in but it is very shimmery which cannot be seen in the photo.

The next of my beautiful cards is by Trisha. Again another Magnolia. I love the Christmassy colours on this card and the different shapes of paper used. Stunning!!!

And lastly, this card is by Anna Moore. I love this card so much. It is along the same line as the stamp that I used on all my cards. It is just gorgeous and very glitzy!!! It totally sums up the Glitzy criteria of the swap!!!! Unfortunately the photo does not do this card justice! Sorry Anna.

Another Nellie

Here is another Sugar Nellie creation. I love the blues and browns. I have used Dovecraft Christmas paper and matching ribbon and Bazzill card. I cut a Tag out using the Big Shot and mounted it onto brown Bazzill and cut around it to make a mat for it. I watercoloured the Sugar Nellie stamp and cut round it and mounted it onto the tag. I punched out some snowflakes down the side of the paper using a punch and then put a gem in the middle of each cut out. On the tag, I have used some blue elastic and strung some beads on it. Added a white poinsettia bloom and a peel off greeting.

Finished Nellies

I have managed to make 2 cards today using my Sugar Nellie stamps. The first one is using Fanciful Green Filigre (their spelling not mine!!!) paper made by Paper Adventures which I got from Hobbycraft. It is lovely paper with embossed glittery swirls. The image is the Winter Sugar Nellie which I have water coloured. I have also used Bazzill Bling card and a Bling flower.

The second card is using DCWV paper from the Spring Stack with pink and blue Bazzill Bling card. I can't remember where the flowers are from. The card I cut on my Craft Robo on pearlised card and it is scalloped with hearts in each scallop. I then used ribbon inside the card behind the hearts.

I just lurve these stamps!!!!

A Sprinkling of Sugar Nellies

My Nellies arrived yesterday... ... and I spent the evening, stamping them out. I stamped one of each of the designs on a scalloped oval which I designed in Design Master and cut on the Craft Robo.
I then stamped more images just into my water colour pad so that I cut them out once they have been coloured in.

I am think I am coming down with a bit of a cold (daughter and husband had it - so only a matter of time) and so have spent the afternoon having a therapeutic colouring in session. Just need to find some energy to actually make some cards.
Here are my efforts so far...

If you would like some of these fantastic stamps, then go to http://www.funkykits.co.uk/ and place an order. This is currently the only place that the stamps are available from.

Tonnes of Tildas

I recently bought some Magnolia stamps called Tildas from http://www.funkykits.co.uk/

I haven't had a chance to actually make any cards yet, but I have stamped lots of images out and have started colouring them in. They stamp absolutely wonderfully and they colour in so nicely. I would definitely recommend anybody to purchase some!!!

Keep watching this space as eventually I will have made some cards with these gorgeous stamps.

And I have some absolutely fantastic new stamps on their way also from Funky Kits - they are called Sugar Nellies!!! These are going to be biggest thing in stamping this year!!! Keep an eye for out these - they are definitely not one to miss out on. If you want to look at them, look on this blog http://www.sugarnellie.blogspot.com/ I guarantee you will love them!

Girlie Card

After making so many Christmas cards lately, I thought I would make a girly card using a Whipper Snapper stamp. I have used backing paper from the DCWV Spring stack and some from the Nanna stack.

Pyramage card

I have fancied having a go at this for a few months and so bought some decoupage sheets from my local craft shop. I then cut each image out reducing each cut by 1/2 cm for each rectangle. It is very quick and easy. Are the images a bit Seventies?

Oh well only have another billion decoupage sheets to use up!!!

Cakes and crafting

Well haven't I been busy? Firstly I know Halloween is over for the year but I found this cake mix on offer in Asda (2 for £2) so I thought they would be fun to make with my daughter.
I did all the mixing and Zoe put the halloween embellishments on. They taste really yummy too! Although Zoe seems to think that as she put the sweeties on, then that is all she needs to eat!!!

And then I made a card for my husband's cousin who will be 7 on 5th November. I had seen something similar on UKS on the Craft Robo template section by Anna - I thought I would have a go at making my own version of it using the new Design Master software. I found an image of a football and then traced it using the software and then made a circular card and matted and layered his name and the number seven. I cut the white using Bazzill and the black is Bazzill glitter card. It didn't cut very well so I had to get the knife out to finish it off. I am really pleased with this one.

Christmas is on it's way

On Wednesday I bought some new decorations for the tree this year. I have decided to do the tree in greens and purples - bit like a peacock. My husband thought I was nuts when I came home with some tree decs - what does he know anyway?!?!?!

So Thursday, I had the day off and very naughtily sent my daughter off to nursery so that I could spend the whole day on crafting with all my stash spread out over the lounge!!!

This is the first card - I used a Penny Black stamp cut out and put onto some pearlised card. I coloured in the image using some Sakura Glaze pens to give the post box some gloss and water coloured the rest of the image. I then used Cuttlebug Snow embossing folder to emboss the bottom circle and used a gold peel off greeting and a bit of ribbon. The bottom circle is meant to look like a bauble - could you tell???

My next card is using the same stamp but coloured all in water colours. I thought the postage stamp paper went well with the post box - it is from the Papermania Christmas stack.

I just love Penny Black stamps - as if you couldn't tell!!
Here is a gate fold one:

And here is another one (there are some more cards using this stamp to be posted up later as I used this stamp for my UKS Glitzy Christmas Card Swap)

My last cards are using the Santa's Workshop stamp by Whipper Snapper - the first one is the same as the last one I posted but I didn't think it looked right so I changed the greeting for a stamped and embossed greeting in red tinsel embossing powder.

And lastly ...

I used a swing card template that I found on the web which I amended to use it on A5 card. It was a bit fiddly and I cut it by hand and so up close doesn't look very good. I am going to redesign it using the Craft Robo.
