“A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams” - Anon.
How very true this quote is! We live in a two bedroom flat and although it is not a house, it is definitely a home!
We bought the flat about 10 years ago with the thought that it would be our first home and that we stay here for a couple of years and then buy a bigger house.
Somehow we are still here! The housing marketing went silly and we were never sure when to buy. The flat has tripled in value. Then we had Zoë which meant that we had less money for a big mortgage and now the market is supposedly going the other way and so we are now not sure whether is safe to buy a house without ending up with negative equity. So we have decided to stay here a bit longer.
I would love to have my own craft room but this is impossible in the flat. The plus side of the flat is that our monthly mortgage payments are tiny and this means that we can have pretty good life style and have money to do things that we would perhaps be unable to do if we had a huge mortgage.
It may not be the biggest or the poshest of flats, but it is ours, it is warm and dry and provides a safe haven for Zoë to grow up in.

Lovely Journaling for today and I like your photo idea
Beautiful journalling Claire, buying and selling property always involves such big decisions and stress. Good to be happy where you are and have some pennies in your pocket to enjoy life.
Love the photo, great idea :)
Great journalling! A big house doesn't always equate to a home! You sound very happy where you are! Love the picture idea!
Sounds like you are happy in your home...thats all that matters!
