My Year - January 17th - What have I done today?

This is really the theme for tomorrow but it was too good an opportunity to miss today.

BUILDING A FLAT PACK BED!!!!

Well we started just after 10am by emptying Zoe's room. And then got the first part out ready to start...
Then Zoe came along and decided that she needed to help build her new bed...
But they soon needed a quick cuddle pitstop...
Who would have thought that there would have been so many bits to this bed...
It didn't take long before the first piece was put together...And then onto the next bit. Zoe was overseeing the use of the hammer...Than came the castors...
And then the chair was finished, so Zoe had to try it out...
Then it really began to start looking like a bed...
Not long now...
And then it was built and here is Zoe on it...
And finally snuggled in it...
It was almost 2pm by this time. So we stopped for lunch and then I sorted out all the toys and books and put everything together. Our lounge is now free of toys for the first time in over 3 years.
This is the bed open with the desk out...

And all closed up.

Lets hope that Zoe sleeps alright in it tonight.

That looks so lovely, I'm sure Zoe must be thrilled but it may prove too exciting to sleep Mummy.

Great photos!! And did she stay in her bed the whole night - I haven't yet mastered that one with my 3 youngest kids and the eldest if them is 8 - and he still appears in our bed before midnight!! It's a gorgeous bed - wonder how long it will stay that tidy!!
