A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #34

This week's challenge was to use the paper piecing technique. The design team cards were so brilliant I wasn't sure that I understood what paper piecing is - perhaps I still don't ;-)
My interpretation was:
I stamped the Tilda with Cake Magnolia stamp onto some My Minds Eye paper from the Garden Party set and then just cut her dress out. I then stamped the image again onto ordinary white card stock twice. I coloured her in using Pro Markers and then glued the dress from the patterned paper onto the image on the white cardstock. I also decoupaged the birthday cake and the shoes for a bit more depth. Using my rectangular Nestabilities I then mounted her on a scallop using the same paper as her dress.
The rest of the card is made using more papers from the Garden Party set. I have added a 4 layered bloom with a pearlised brad in the middle. The little postage love stamp was from the Crush die cut sheet from Fancy Pants which I found in my ever growing pile of stash.

This is so cute, love how her dress ties in with the background paper!
