“A habit cannot be tossed out the window; it must be coaxed down the stairs a step at a time” - Mark Twain - humorist, lecturer, author
When someone mentions the word habits, I automatically think of the bad habits rather than the good ones. I am not sure that I have too many bad habits – certainly not the conventional ones. I don’t bite my nails (I am proud of my hand and nails), I don’t smoke (tried it but didn’t like it) and I don’t really drink (don’t get a chance to go out since I had Zoë and don’t like to drink at home). I know I could eat better and exercise more don’t seem to get the chance to do either.
I think my worst habit is thinking I need something, going out and buying it impulsively and then not using it – at least for a while. A prime example of this is my Bind It All machine. I was on UK Scrappers and was reading a thread about it. From this I decided that I definitely NEEDED one and so went straight out and bought one even though I couldn’t really afford it!!!. However it sat in it’s box unopened for at least a month and even now I have only used it once and not to make a mini book or anything but just to punch some holes in some card to make it look like a photographic negative.
Even though I know I do this, I can’t seem to stop it. I have numerous impulse buys that rarely get used and the majority of them are craft related.
