Day 77 - Monday 17th March

"When you try your best, but you don't succeed, When you get what you want but not what you need, When you feel so tired but you can't sleep, Stuck in reverse? When the tears come streaming down your face, When you lose something you can't replace, When you love someone but it goes to waste, Could it be worse?Lights will guide you home, And ignite your bones, And I will try to fix you” - Fix You - Cold Play
These lyrics really make me think about what I have in life.

Today I have a poorly Zoë. She wasn’t right yesterday afternoon after we took her to Monkey Bizzness. When she got home she was very clingy band cuddly. She had her bath but fell asleep drinking her milky. This morning she woke up and didn’t look right and quite a temperature. We gave her some Calpol which seemed to perk her up. I did take her to nursery but I knew she wasn't right - very cuddly and wimpy. Also over the weekend we found some spots under her armpit which I wondered whether they might be the dreaded chicken pox. Anyway I risked taking her in and I went to work. But when I was chatting to a colleague about her, she reminded me that Zoe had had these spots before and it was impetigo. So I phoned nursery and they asked me to come and get her. I have phoned the doctors and they asked me to make an appointment later in the week as they are so busy. When I said what I thought was wrong, they asked me to phone back after 2pm today. RUBBISH!!!! I can't take her back to nursery until she has started medication. She is cuddled up next to me watching CBeebies.
I hate it when she is poorly as I feel so helpless. I would give or do anything to take her aches and pains away. I would gladly take her place. It is hard being a working mother as you want to be there for your child but you have deadlines at work and you don’t want to let your employer down. How do you know what to do for the best? I think Zoë wins over every time.

Such a pityful face but so sweet all the same, and I agree your family must come first especially when they are so young.
