Today is all about Christmas trees and whether we prefer real or fake etc.
My journalling reads:
"I would much rather have a real Christmas tree over an artificial one but I have had a bad experience with a real one. For years we had an artificial one that we inherited and it was really beginning to look tatty. So the year ZoĆ« was born, I managed to convince James to have a real one. So quite early in December, we bought one. We bought it home and it filled the lounge with the glorious smell of pine needles. Trouble was, it dropped lots of it’s needles really quickly and began to look bare in places. I was given a refund on the tree as I bought it from work. There was no way I wanted to try and take it down, get it out of the flat and back to the garden centre and then replace it with another one. We put up with it for the rest of Christmas. I was constantly hovering around it. In January when we took it down, we basically had to prune it down to a stump in it’s bucket and then take it outside like that - we had 2 large rubbish bags full of branches.
The next year we bought a new artificial one."

I hate all the needles dropping and we went for an artificial one 12 years ago and have never regreated it.
